Killer Urge by Steven Fisher is a unique kind of thriller. A body in a park appears to be a random killing, and there are no leads. The trail goes cold until a tip brings outside consultant Kevin Mathers in to help. He’s already brought down a serial killer – can he solve this one? His investigations uncover evidence that has the police questioning if it was a one-off killing or part of something much bigger. As the bodies pile up, each one seems to have some connection to the first, and Kevin and the police have their work cut out. But when the killer loses control, things turn personal for Kevin. He’s not letting go, though, and when he finally catches up with the killer, it’s in the park where the first body was found. This is a fight to the finish – will Kevin get his killer, or has it all been for nothing?

Killer Urge by Steven Fisher offers something special – a journey into the mind of a killer. Told from the alternating perspectives of the killer and the main protagonist, it will keep you on your toes, allowing you to see the story play out from both sides. It appears to be a follow-on from Killer Personality, but could be read as a standalone thriller. The story races along, packed with twists and turns that leave you dizzy with anticipation. The suspense builds fast in an action-packed plot that will keep you reading right to the explosive ending. The character development is second to none, as is the world-building, allowing readers to become fully invested in the story right from the start. A word of warning – be prepared for a late night; once you start reading this book, you’ll keep going until the very end. Fantastic thriller for anyone who loves the genre.
