Pamela Williams is back! In book two of the series, she’s called upon by the Scottsdale, Arizona, police to investigate a nasty string of murders. A couple known only as ‘The Richers’ pick up unsuspecting couples, invite them for a night of swinging, then drug, rape, and often kill one or more of them. This is a baffling case, as nobody actually knows who these people are. A search by cadaver dogs at the scene of their most recent crimes uncovers a whole lot of bodies. These people are serial killers. Meanwhile, Pamela has been invited to become a certified member of the Council of International Investigators, an extremely prestigious organization. She’s done some questionable things in the past for her job and wonders if she deserves this award. Also, she and Peter have taken the next step to make their relationship more official. Can she help discover who the Richers are, or do too many distractions get in her way? Check out Daniel Maldonado’s Less Than Equals to find out.
The Pamela Williams series is a spin-off of Daniel Maldonado’s #1 best-selling Daniel Mendoza series. In the first book, it was Pamela herself in the hot seat; this time, she and her team do all the investigating, and this sets up the premise neatly for how the rest of the series will unfold. The Richers, especially Mrs., are an evil couple, and their story is shocking and full of unpredictable surprises. I absolutely loved that Daniel Mendoza made a cameo appearance, and especially loved the scene where he’s choosing a book title for his first novel; you’ll know it when you get to it. Less Than Equals by Daniel Maldonado is an investigative mystery/thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat right to the final sentence. Highly recommended for lovers of strong female characters with crime-solving expertise.
