In Little Pearl's Reflection: Mystery at Adventure Lake by Sarah Ann Kinnear, Margaret Sophia Anna Maria Smith (also known as Little Pearl), is searching for her lost mother, Anna. Anna disappeared on their island and when Pearl went looking for her, she met many interesting animals along the Old Winding River including Miss Sophie, Henry the smiling rock, and Rosie the crystal. Guided by Gracie the cat, Rusty and Priscilla fly ahead to search from above. Olivia the fish searches the riverbanks. In-Out the bunny and Syd the snake join the search for Anna. The searchers meet up at Adventure Lake, en route to the Big Purple Mount Anokye. There they meet Olé T the donkey and Darwin the monkey. Pearl also meets Iris who was once a caterpillar but is now a beautiful butterfly. Gracie the cat introduced Pearl to Sirenia the mermaid who gave her a beautiful pearl. When a messenger dog arrives, Gracie hopes he can help with the search.
Author Sarah Ann Kinnear has created a beautiful series of books, all aimed at Little Pearl finding her mother Anna. Little Pearl's Reflection: Mystery at Adventure Lake is delightful with interesting and unusual characters. Beautiful artwork and activities for children complete this stunning little book. I especially enjoyed the creative way in which the animals are described and illustrated. The story teaches children patience and the importance of friends and family to help us in times of need. Every child deserves to have this series of books displayed on their bookshelf. Highly recommended to all children to keep them entertained.
