Loving Lily and the Magic Seed by Hillie Jeffery is a wonderful, encouraging picture book for children that can also inspire parents. What do you get when you combine love, faith, hope, patience, and friendship? Whatever it is, it will be wonderful because those ingredients are powerful. Lily finds a seed and tends it. After much care, the little seed becomes a beautiful flower. This book does a great job of teaching children life skills that will enable them to succeed. One important lesson from this book that everyone needs to remember is that after a storm, the sun shines again, which is when you find rainbows. Lily protects the small sprout from the danger of a nearby bunny. Discuss how friendships must be protected and nurtured to grow and flourish. This book will lead you and your child into many conversations about the beauty and balance of nature.
If you are like most parents, you will appreciate any help you can get in raising your child to be successful and positive. Hillie Jeffery's Loving Lily and the Magic Seed helps children learn important life lessons about friendship, love, patience, and the power of togetherness. This book is easy to read; youngsters will love the rhymes. Nathalie Kranich does a wonderful job of illustrating this book. Let this book spark many great conversations about its various themes with your child. Be sure to help your child understand that even negative circumstances can turn into something great. There is always a silver lining to any dark cloud or storm. I highly recommend this book to all young readers. Sweet stories are easy to remember, and the life lessons will stick with your child.
