Lunch Box Wisdom by Zaynab Al-Yassiri is about Ali's first day of kindergarten. He is so excited about starting school, he packs his book bag and lunchbox the night before so he will be ready for his big day. What Ali didn't know until lunchtime the next day is that his mom had put in an encouraging note to Ali about being kind. Ali was able to practice this with one of his classmates during their lunchtime, and he finds his mother is right. Ali made a special friend on his very first day of kindergarten. I love how Al-Yassiri uses a small child and his mom to tell this story. This is a beautiful way to connect with small children.
Lunch Box Wisdom is beautiful inside and out. It is a must for every child starting kindergarten, first grade, daycare, or any other activity a child would be involved in. Author Zaynab Al-Yassiri writes a beautiful story encouraging children and adults alike to be kind. This valuable lesson plays out in the story, and I think it's something we all should practice. Can you imagine the world we might live in if everyone practiced being kind? And to make the story even better, Rosemarie Gillen does an amazing job with the illustrations. The colors are vibrant and the characters are unique and adorable; any child will love getting this book. I encourage you to check out Lunch Box Wisdom by Zaynab Al-Yassiri for the little someone in your life.
