Witness the rise of an ancient deity in M.C. Schmidt’s Mad as Birds. After tragedy strikes and Milo Selby and his brother, Jack, are sent into hiding, they relocate to start a new life in a community deep within the wooded outskirts of northern Indiana. Their new home is a towering stone mansion built in the late 1800s as a retreat for the rich and famous until its owner met a tragic end in 1947. A vicious entity has lingered in the old building for over a century, alone and trapped. Nothing can stop the entity from taking root and spreading horror and destruction to the living. All they can do is run!

Mad as Birds is impeccably written and meticulously plotted. It captured my attention from the first page and held it captive to the last. It is a dark journey packed with masterful twists and revelations that keep you intrigued and guessing every step of the way. I loved the suspense and felt the tension build up from within. You feel the evil lurking in dark corners and long-abandoned conference rooms. Driven by utter malice, the entity rots its victims from the inside out and fills them with rage. As rituals of the ancients come forth and tormented creatures of the occult materialize, forbidden secrets come to light and plunge the characters into their worst nightmares. You can almost hear the unearthly shrieks and troubled screams echo in the dead of night. You feel the suspense and tension growing from within. M.C. Schmidt's Mad as Birds is gripping and unsettling. It is a real page-turner, ideal for fans of horror, psychological thrillers, and the macabre.
