Memories by Steven Belden is a psychological thriller that will keep you hooked to the story. Cody Brannon was just seventeen years old when he had a near fatal accident. He stayed in a coma for 27 days, with his girlfriend Tiffany vigilant at his side, waiting for him to wake up. When he wakes up, he discovers that he now has a special ability. He can reach into other people’s minds and read their repressed memories that they would rather forget. When his mother was killed by the same person who caused Cody’s accident, he and Tiffany put all their strengths into law school and later join the FBI.
Now, with one a profiler and the other a lawyer, they work every day to put criminals behind bars. When they get the hint of a sex trafficking ring, they get all over the case. Cody's mother used to work with the sexually abused and used, and now he has the chance to carry on her legacy and give something back to her. But the case is bigger than they anticipated. A chain of lies and deceit has them ensnared. Can they crack the case and free the enslaved? Or will they lose everything and perish?
Memories by Steven Belden was simply fantastic. It is fast paced, gripping, and with a storyline that leaves nothing unanswered. I loved the way Tiffany and Cody worked together. They were truly a team. Where many novels have the woman as mere eye candy, Tiffany was not left to become just another bimbo. She was vigilant, resilient and courageous. That took the cake for me! This is a nice psychological thriller that grips the attention of the reader and makes for a perfect read. I truly enjoyed it!
