Mistake In Time is a work of fiction in the time travel subgenre. It is suitable for the general reading audience and was penned by author Anna Faversham. The book follows Liberty Taffet, a woman from the 21st century who escapes her recent heartbreak by heading for Regency England after learning the secrets of time travel. But when she instead finds herself in the 1960s, the two strangers chasing her down are the least of her problems when she realizes that she can’t recall her own history. Love could still be on the horizon for her if only she could undo the mistake that landed her here.

There is a wonderful romanticism about time travel. The idea of moving to a simpler period of history that we admire in order to escape the complex and messy aspects of our modern lives is a deeply appealing one. That romanticism is captured wonderfully by author Anna Faversham in her new novel which sees protagonist Liberty get so lost in the idea of escaping her life into the past that a mishap sees her sent to the wrong past entirely. The author’s prose does a marvelous job of bringing to life the feel and spirit of the 1960s, with descriptive writing that made me feel like I was walking down the streets of London. This gifted prose extends to the protagonist herself with quirks and mannerisms that made her feel fully realized and grounded in reality. Overall, Mistake In Time is a fun and exciting adventure through the ages with an engaging protagonist adventuring through a vividly realized vision of the swinging 60s.

In Mistake in Time by Anna Faversham, Liberty Taffet had a successful career in a high-end London hospital in 2020, but it did not seem enough; she wanted more. She started her own business helping people find love and friendship. She would be reminded of what she left behind sooner than she thought. Her past became her present when a handsome doctor from her former place of work came to warn her about some news he had heard and offered to take her to dinner. Liberty’s heart was torn because although she liked this doctor, she believed he was engaged to another woman. Finding a mysterious journal from the previous owner of her new business, she decided to explore the contents; time traveling through a cave. Thinking it would be harmless fun and a distraction from her confused heart, she explores the cave, wanting to land in 1814, but she lands in 1968 instead. Little does she know, she is not the only one who lands in 1968.

Mistake in Time by Anna Faversham is a fantastically written time travel romance with well-developed characters and plot. Readers can expect an exciting story and perspective on what time travel might be like. Each character represents various aspects of life, each with their own trials and hardships, fears, and successes, making this novel very relatable to many readers. The author also intertwines the idea of God and faith into the story, making it refreshing by the unique way she does this. I liked this book, and anyone interested in time travel and learning about different eras will also find it enjoyable.
