Mole And Tell is written by Catherine and John Payne and illustrated by Elisa Rocchi. Mr. Cantello posted the very important date of a scientific celebration on the board for the classroom to try to figure out. He explained the significance of the date and that scientists all over the world used moles to measure the units of several different compounds, chemicals, and solutions. To celebrate and further educate the class about Mole Day, Mr. Cantello suggested they have a Mole and Tell in class on the special date. How will the kids find out more about mole units and what they are used for? How important are moles in science? How will Mole and Tell help the class understand these scientific measurements better?

I love the way Mole And Tell is both entertaining and educational. The scientific angle of the plot in this story is something to be admired. The classroom of kids and the instruction of the teacher set this story apart from the typical children’s book. Catherine and John Payne obviously have a very keen understanding of the world of science and deliver the story in a way that kids can easily understand and learn from. The illustrations by Elisa Rocchi are beautiful and flow smoothly with the story to make the story even more fun for the young reader. I recommend Mole And Tell to children who are interested in science and math and love to learn new things when they read. This story definitely belongs in classrooms, libraries, and in the homes of young scientific minds.
