Love, companionship, and furry friends are what children will enjoy reading about in My Mate Molly and My Chum Charlie - Meine Freundin Molly und Mein Kumpel Charlie by C. Selbherr. This beautifully illustrated bilingual (English and German) children's book cleverly tells the story through the eyes of a child and her two dogs, Molly and Charlie as they journey through their daily lives with her. In this book your child will see the beautiful connection that she has with Molly and Charlie, her companions, friends, and protectors. This book has everything it needs to introduce your child to learning both the English and German language.
I enjoyed this book because it introduced an interesting way for children to learn different languages. C. Selbherr wanted to make sure that children learned not only the correlation between the words in the story but also provided an extensive vocabulary of the words at the end that were used throughout the text. For example, your child will see words like 'hairy' (English) and 'haarig' (German) to help them understand the meaning of each word. To continue to enjoy the book, your child will have a few pictures that they can color and personalize for their own experiences with My Mate Molly and My Chum Charlie. This is an ideal book and a must-have for any child. C. Selbherr has written other children's books that I'm sure your child will enjoy as well.
