In James Seamone’s Nick & Nate vs. The Notorious Nose Nabbler, a silly bedtime story turns out to be entirely real. The story centers on the Notorious Nose Nabbler, a sneaky, noseless creature who’s obsessed with stealing noses of all shapes and sizes from sleeping children. Ophelia and Astrid think the main villain is just a made-up story, so they neglect their anti-nabbler routines. Everything changes when they wake up with blank spaces where their actual noses used to be. Uncles Nick and Nate refuse to let the thief get away with the crime, loading up their tracking equipment to follow a strong sausage aroma across famous Canadian locations. The thief stays one step ahead of them, though, darting through tourists at Moraine Lake and slipping past the rocks at Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse. Can these two determined uncles navigate dense city crowds and complete their rescue mission before the sneaky culprit escapes for good?

James Seamone’s Nick & Nate vs. The Notorious Nose Nabbler is a witty children’s book that nicely blends education with comedy. The lighthearted setting provides a colorful backdrop for a chase that never loses its playful tone. Ian Etheridge’s illustrations add real value to the story; they fill each page with bright colors and funny details that encourage children to search the crowded scenes for hidden clues. The story is fun, and watching the uncles zoom across different provinces creates a wonderful sense of movement. There’s a nice flow to the writing that makes the dialogue bounce off the pages. This charming story neatly brings everything together at the end with a satisfying conclusion. It is a top-tier recommendation for preschool and elementary school children who enjoy silly humor and interactive books.

Nick and Nate vs. The Notorious Nose Nabbler is a children’s picture book written by James Seamone. It follows the story of the Notorious Nose Nabbler, a creature so strange and with no nose of its own. He is obsessed with children’s noses, and likes them in all shapes and sizes, but no one thought he was real. Two little girls, Ophelia and Astrid, never believed in the existence of the Nabbler and never took any safety measures to protect themselves from the creature. However, one day while they were sleeping over at their Uncle Nick and Uncle Nate’s place, the Nabbler nabbled Ophelia's and Astrid’s noses. Luckily, the girls had Nate and Nick, who decided to chase down the Nabbler to return the stolen noses. Join them on their adventure across Canada, following the scent of smelly noses and using gadgets to try to catch the Nabbler.

Nick and Nate vs. The Notorious Nose Nabbler isn’t just some wild tale about a creature swiping kids’ noses. It’s an adventure that takes you right across Canada, teaching you about famous landmarks along the way. Children will meet quirky characters, like tall uncles with intriguing personalities, and also learn the importance of listening to warnings. James Seamone uses language that children can relate to and has highlighted important words that they can learn to use in their vocabulary. The book shows locations like Nova Scotia, Niagara Falls, Parliament Hill, and many more. The Notorious Nose Nabbler is a one-of-a-kind character, and the whole idea behind the book is refreshingly original. The illustrations by Ian Etheridge jump off the pages. They are colorful and lively, and they really make each town in the story feel real. It’s a fantastic pick for anyone curious about Canadian landmarks or looking for a story that reminds kids about staying safe, without ever feeling like a lecture.
