Nondisclosure is a thriller on a medical and academic theme, penned by author Geoffrey M Cooper. Focused on the themes of sexual misconduct in academic medical life, this intense work is recommended for mature audiences due to themes of rape and murder. Set in a leading institute for medical research, one faculty member accuses another of drugging and assaulting a student, who later ends up dead just as her memory of events is returning. With no evidence anywhere to follow, the investigative team is stumped until they find their own lives at risk, which introduces them to a shocking world of cover-ups they never thought possible.

Politically themed and powerfully relevant in today’s climate, this is not only an entertaining and engaging thriller but also a thought-provoking issue raised at just the right time in fiction. Author Geoffrey M Cooper deals with adult themes in a non-graphic manner, allowing all readers to enter the world of Brad and Karen’s investigation as they try to find out what really happened to the original victims, before becoming potential victims themselves. What results is a stylish and well-written thriller which favors plot over character, delving deep into the details of the murder and unpicking the social structure which has allowed it to occur. There is some fascinating and eye-opening commentary on the culture present at this prestigious institution (and certainly many others). Overall, Nondisclosure is a highly recommended read for fans of politically charged murder mysteries, thrilling suspense novels, and current social issues.
