Book Two of 'The Godling Chronicles', "Of Gods and Elves", continues the fast-paced action that leads Gewey and his friends deeper into the intrigues of the Dark Knight. The world is changing quickly and the group of men and women, elves and gods trying to prevent the darkness from overtaking it are challenged at every turn by unexpected traitors. Out of the hardships, new alliances are forged, however, and hope continues to burn brightly within those who help Gewey achieve his destiny by opening the “Book of Souls”. The power of good opens the hearts and minds of many who cling to the old ways out of fear and together the characters seek to create a new bridge to mend the hurts of the past.

This book is a seamless continuation of "The Sword of Truth: The Godling Chronicles, Book One”. Gewey and his circle grow in understanding and maturity as they pass through the challenges set before them. It is not always easy and, in fact, it often results in pain and despair but they continue to rise above the negatives to keep striving towards their goal. Character development continues to be quite realistic and multi-dimensional with the subtleties of the interaction between strangers and foes well captured. It is easy for the reader to feel as if he or she is part of the action and take sides as issues confront the characters. The fear, happiness, frustration and horror the characters encounter cause the reader to continue turning the pages, anxious to see what happens next.
