In Optimal Living 360: Smart Decision Making For A Balanced Life, Dr. Sanjay Jain presents the core assets that we all strive to fulfill: Asset, Safety, Physical, Intellectual, Relationship, Economic, and Spiritual -- simplified with the acronym ASPIRES. Through his Integrated Decision Making, we will learn how to make the best of any situation and maximize our return on each aspect of our multidimensional lives.

Dr. Sanjay Jain’s book is quite different from other self-help or inspirational books that I have read before. If I may say, it is somewhat like a revolutionary inspirational book. Dr. Jain presents to us some tools to kick-start our journey in improving our overall quality of life; that is to have a very high return on investment (ROI) in life. It is a mindful endeavor to bring together all his experiences or life lessons into informative tools that we can use.

This book, more than all the others, is Dr. Jain's response to the question of how to achieve optimal living, which leads to the introduction of his Integrated Decision Making approach. In his own words, “To make those leaps in growth, you have to make the conscious choice to improve.” Optimal Living 360 is a compelling and powerful book –- it is just what I need in my life right now and it will be my permanent reference in designing the life that I dream of. Overall, I am pleased to recommend it to my fellow readers.

Dr. Sanjay Jain leverages his expertise in health and finances, along with his understanding of life and spirituality, to present a method of decision making that considers six fundamental aspects of living. They say you will get out of life what you put into it. Dr. Jain capitalizes on that notion by showing us how we can control that return on investment (ROI). He takes us through each of the fundamentals (protecting our health and well-being, our physical and mental health, making and managing relationships, our economic health, our spirituality and how we manage and use our time), and shows us how they interact with each other to affect our decisions, and how we can improve the ROI we get from each. Additionally, he shows us how to set limits and explains what might happen if limits are not set.

I expected that a medical doctor would present important and useful information about health issues. I was not prepared for the wisdom that Dr. Jain conveys through the lessons in his book, which cover a broad range of subjects. I was especially pleased by his open-minded approach to spirituality. I must add that readers desiring a better understanding of personal economics, and how they should be considered in decision making, will not be disappointed. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their life by making better and more knowledgeable decisions, to ensure that the return they realize on what they investment in life is optimal.

Would you like to have more balance in your life by using consistent strategies? Sanjay Jain, MD, MBA, methodically lays out these strategies in Optimal Living 360. Topics include: Optimal living basics, core assets for integrative decision making, holding onto your assets, your physical health, affairs of the mind, love and happiness, what money can buy, how God is good, and make time matter. This book is peppered with personal anecdotes along with practical advice. The author's medical training gives him valuable insight as he has witnessed the human drama of life, injury, and death. He also has the business background and experience to recommend ways to promote financial health and security.

The author's information and advice should be accessible to most readers. Optimal Living 360 is comprehensive and detailed but it has a friendly tone. There is liberal use of acronyms such as ROI, which stands for 'return on investment.' He uses ROI in a general way to mean the benefit of using a strategy. The objective information could be too much to digest if it weren't for the use of attractive symbols to highlight chapters, the wide spacing of sub-categories, and personal comments.

Wise decision making can lead the heart to better relationships and enhanced spirituality. Wholesome food choices and appropriate exercise should promote and maintain physical vitality. The reader should guard against identity theft, and do enough research into business ventures before taking the plunge. This book takes the reader from A to Z to help themselves.

In this new self-help guide, Sanjay Jain has created a blueprint for making improvements in all major aspects of life. Optimal Living 360 covers the ‘Core Assets’ in Life – ASPIRES – that all play a part in making our lives whole and rewarding. Our Assets: Safety, Physical, Intellectual, Relationships, Economic, and Spiritual must all be balanced with adequate attention paid to each for the best functioning of our overall lives. By discussing ‘Life Currencies’, Optimal Living 360 explains the balance of these assets like those in a bank account. If too much is taken out of any one particular area, the relationship between the remaining elements becomes unstable. Maximizing the appropriate relationship between the various aspects of our lives provides us with a significant ‘Return on Investment’ that means ultimate satisfaction. Using the process of ‘Integrative Decision Making’, people can easily learn to measure the effects of any decision in terms of cost (including time, money, energy, emotions and social) so that their main efforts are going into endeavors that truly are meaningful and important.

Optimal Living 360 is an easy-to-read guide to intelligent decision making that should enable anyone to get the most out of life. Sanjay Jain, a physician and MBS, explains quite clearly our ‘Core Assets’ and how we can develop a workable plan to achieve what we want. He tells us how to balance these ‘Core Assets’ by keeping ‘CAPS’ in mind – ‘Core Asset Protection Strategies’. The most important thing that is different about Optimal Living 360 is the attention it devotes to physical and mental health as key elements that need to be maintained in order to achieve ultimate satisfaction out of life.

This is truly a wonderful read for anyone who wants to prepare for life, who may need to get a handle on elements that have gotten out of balance, or who is simply curious about how to get more out of the life he or she has been given.
