Author Bil Howard, in Our Holy Lamb - Lifting the Fleece Book 1, points the reader toward Jesus Christ the Lamb of God being a person's only hope. He helps the reader to better understand their need for true repentance and not becoming conditioned to the religious thoughts of the church and others around us. Howard gives wonderful, insightful points with scriptures, illustrations and detailed study to ponder upon. Illustrator Karen John helps the reader to visualize what the author is trying to convey with her detailed artwork and views portrayed through the stroke of a brush. Howard delivers a very straightforward and powerful message, one that needs to be presented in our world today.
I enjoyed the short chapters, which allowed for hard-hitting, straight to the point concepts, along with a new picture to illustrate the new point found within the chapter. Chapter 8 was my favorite as Howard unashamedly faces the very controversial topic of Halloween. He looks at how believers are being deceived by Satan and does a wonderful job of sharing his thoughts with scriptures, and allows the reader to face this issue head on to deal with for themselves. While this is a short book, it is power packed, and one for those who truly desire to be stretched within their faith and to grow deeper. This isn't for the faint of heart or for those who are looking for a book filled with fluff. This is a very rich and powerful work.
