Paradigm Shift by Anthony Muss covers a very controversial subject, politics, in a tongue-in-cheek book. A paradigm shift is a change in the perception of how things should be thought about, done, or made – the worldview, concepts, and practices of how something is accomplished. Here it is put into the context of who is behind the candidates running for the presidential election. The characters that take the reader on this journey of intrigue, corruption, and final results are Dexter Miller, Jennifer, his assistant, Dewawn Dee Russell, Commissioner Williams, Elizabeth, and young, impressionable aides, Tom and Pete. All these people started out thinking that they could make a difference, but after a while, they discovered that it is not the case at all. The story revolves around Doc Allen, who always seems to work for the newest candidate standing to run for the presidency. In Doc’s world, the ends justify the means, even if they are amoral. To this end, Doc recruits people who are loyal to him first and foremost, and then to the Presidential Candidate, because at the end of the day, Doc is going to be running the White House; the President will be his puppet.
Paradigm Shift by Anthony Muss takes the reader on a journey behind the scenes of election campaigning and how the campaign managers view the voting public. The electoral machine, once on the move, sucks in the innocent who believe that their candidate will make a difference. But as the story progresses, they discover a different world, one that the general public is not aware of, and especially how they manipulate the votes cast for their candidate. It is easy if you know how. It is a book well worth reading, especially if you want to know how the worst person always gets elected. He normally has the deepest pockets. It is a most interesting insight into electoral practices, but I can assure you that these are practised all over the world, but not with as much finesse as in America, and of course, money talks. It is a most interesting book. I recommend it as one of the books that should be read. An insightful book.
