Author Biography

Living in a small village in Lancashire, England, the author has written his second book, Peter, Enchantment and Stardust. In the 1990s, the author had twenty-one articles published, both nationally and internationally. After gaining an honours degree in Geosciences, doing post-graduate study in Occupational Health and Fitness, and earning a masters degree in Science Communication, he developed an interest for simple communication. A passion for writing again emerged, and combining various interests in fine art, museum exhibition display, biology, geology, poetry, and the mystical led to the story of Peter: A Darkened Fairytale. The author still retains a childlike vision of the world, which is conveyed throughout his books.

Peter, Enchantment and Stardust: The Poems (Peter: A Darkened Fairytale) by William O'Brien is a collection of whimsical and mystical poems inspired by the book, Peter: A Darkened Fairytale. The enchantment of the book and the adventures are captured in a variety of poems that reveal the magic and whimsical quality of the book. The verses not only capture the magical world of Peter, but also the visual mind of the poet with his words and wonderful imagery. The poems vary in their emotions but the mystery and the magic, the delicious imagery and sleek flow makes it an awesome collection. Divided into three sections, Peter, Enchantment, and Stardust, all the poems are enchanting and captivating and they transport readers to another realm.

What I liked about this collection is that every single poem is aesthetically presented, giving it that soft and ethereal quality which works well in tandem with magical writing. The language is rich and the style is elegant. The theme of the poems vary from silly, magical, fantasy and mystery that will capture the interest of both young and old. This stunning collection will find its way into the hearts of all fairy tale lovers.

As the title suggests, all the poems are lighthearted. One can find oneself wandering through forests, with trolls, trees, creatures, goblins, elves, and many more to keep their love for fantasy and fairy tales alive. The poet's interest in the smallest of details, a keen eye and excellent wordplay makes this a winning collection. One of the best poetry collections I have read in recent times.
