Rage, book three of The Lit Series by Mark Anthony, brings readers into the worlds of Ellie, Sam, and Josh. Things are torn apart as terrifying monsters break through the barriers between their world and the human realm. These three characters are known as Conduits and are connected to the horrors, leading the trio to face some very impossible choices all while trying to survive. Betrayal and loss threaten to destroy them when they end up discovering that these monsters have been setting traps all along. There are creatures such as the Dark Child and other sinister figures, like Chelamah and Bael, that create a dramatic showdown. Ellie, Sam, and Josh find themselves having to fight for their lives and their humanity.

Rage is a gripping, fast-paced horror story filled with all kinds of twists, scares, and moments readers will not soon forget. Mark Anthony does a great job of mixing action and suspense with each character's emotional struggles. This is definitely for fans of dark fantasy and supernatural horrors. Readers will love the vivid world, the intense scenes, and the way the characters grow and change through their battles. There is much to love about each main character such as Ellie’s strength, Sam’s torment, and Josh’s quiet courage. Readers will find themselves connecting deeply with the narrative as it races toward a powerful and emotional ending. Rage is a must-read for anyone who loves stories about survival, sacrifice, and the fight between good and evil. It is not typical horror fiction and Mark Anthony has combined elements of fantasy and thriller in a well-crafted novel.

Rage by Mark Anthony delivers a visceral and haunting conclusion to The Lit Series, plunging readers into humanity's desperate struggle for survival. As reality itself begins to crumble, Ellie and her allies face not only monstrous forces but also devastating betrayal in their existential battle to survive. This grim finale weaves together elements of psychological and physical horror while exploring profound themes of sacrifice, fury, and the true cost of maintaining hope in the face of overwhelming darkness. Anthony crafts a narrative that serves both as a satisfying conclusion to the series and a powerful standalone exploration of human resilience.

Author Mark Anthony has created a finale to this fascinating series that will have a huge emotional impact on those who've been following Ellie's exploits so far. What struck me most was the author's ability to maintain psychological tension even during the most action-packed sequences, keeping a close narrative eye on how different situations affect the band of heroes. The atmospheric prose pulls readers deep into the reality that Anthony has created, making every moment of terror feel viscerally real, while the character development is conveyed through realistic, emotive dialogue and their responses to increasingly impossible situations. The exploration of rage as both a destructive and potentially redemptive force provides a fascinating psychological aspect of the events. The relationships between the characters felt authentic, even in their most extreme moments, grounding the supernatural horror in very human emotions and reactions. The careful balance of psychological and physical horror creates a relentless narrative that never loses sight of its emotional core. Overall, I would strongly recommend Rage to readers seeking horror fiction that combines intense action with psychological depth and thematic richness.

In the stunning urban fantasy Rage: The Lit Series, horror, Hell, and the mortal world collide with devastating effects. Nightmare entities have enslaved ordinary mortals, bending them to their will and feeding off their most painful emotions, even after death. The world-building in Rage is breathtaking and detailed. Mark Anthony unleashes the worst traits of humanity for the reader’s inspection, showing how even hellish deities are thwarted by the genuine humility of their hosts. Factions form amongst the damned as they grapple to avoid the consequences of their inhumanity to others. Still, destiny predicts only one victor as the human world meets its ultimate destiny.

This novel kept me on the edge of my seat through the quickly shifting, multi-viewpoint narrative. I found myself heavily invested in the fate of each character, especially nine-year-old Josh. The pertinent theme of this novel is hopelessness, alongside the dark fantasy trope of good versus evil. The gritty dialogue and realistic descriptions enhanced my feelings of darkness and despair. The gratuitous horror is a clever, but painful mirroring of our current world, which sometimes seems beyond saving. Mark Anthony’s style varies with each protagonist, pulling the reader into each one’s perspective with genuine skill. My preferred narration was Josh’s, with his childlike understanding of adults. The juxtaposition between the characters and their possessors is fascinatingly crafted. An example of this is Ellie, the host to the supreme god, Bael, and Luca, who channels a beast but adores his frail grandmother. Mark Anthony pulls off a fantastic description of a hideously chilling underworld. Horror readers will love the complexity of this novel, and the many layers of wisdom balanced within it. My favorite and most poignant quote is, “How quickly people forget their own sins." This series would be incredible if made into a movie.
