Longtime friends Leslie and Liz are Baby Boomers in their mid-fifties who love to have adventures together. They are the tiara-wearing queens of motor home adventures who are traveling to the Dixie Speedway race in Alabama. Can they be the queens of the Dixie Speedway while freelance writer Leslie gets her story written up for the newspaper? She won the trip and a fast lap with Roy Rogers. Will this new adventure alleviate the girls' mid-life boredom as they have time away from their marital issues? Life at the track's RV camp soon becomes very interesting as both Leslie and Liz meet new friends and learn the goings-on of the race track with all the sexy race car drivers.
Sex on Wheels by Patt Fero was funny at times with an array of crazy and entertaining characters that the girls meet on their trip. What I took from this book was the friendship between Leslie and Liz, and also how they developed friends along the way. This highlights how the friendships you form with new people can affect their lives in a positive manner. The girls were about to help and influence a new person and this affects their lives in a positive way through laughter, kindness and caring. The writing style is fast paced with interesting twists and turns in the plot. I enjoyed the read. It sounds like this is a series of books about these characters and their many adventures. True friendship at its best in this crazy journey.
