Shattered by Janet Nissenson is a contemporary love story that makes a compelling read with its many twists and turns. Angela Del Carlo leads a non-existent life after her break up. She is shattered and is trying to cope with the pain and start life again. Nick Manning is a ruthless person who has no regrets in life and he has no rules when it comes to living. The only thing that bothers him is what he did to Angela - that is his one regret. Though she haunts him, he knows he is not the man for her and that makes him stay away from her. But then fate has other plans for them, and when they meet again will the sparks fly again or will they stay away from each other?
The story will catch the attention of readers with its plot and characters. The other characters in the story complement the main characters and plot beautifully. The main characters - Nick and Angela - and their personalities are well sketched and the story is developed well, without a boring moment. Like any other love story, the romance and love are palpable and readers can identify with many situations in the book. The nonchalant attitude of Nick Manning and his softening towards Angela makes him endearing. It's an enjoyable read and has all the ingredients of a good love story. Readers will have their moments of suspense and angst, along with Nick and Angela, as the story progresses. A love story that is well paced and interesting.
