Have you ever wanted to lift off into space? Sam does and he can do it, too. In D’artagnan’s Spaceman Sam, one little boy’s dream is filled with lots of adventure and all to be found in a plain cardboard box. Sam has a gift, a special power – he has imagination, and with imagination, he can go anywhere and do anything. So, off into space he goes, seeing asteroids, aliens, and super spaceship races just waiting to happen. But when he wants to race the aliens he meets, he realizes that he needs a partner; he needs his dad. Will Dad have the imagination needed to keep up with Sam? And will they be able to win the race against the super clever aliens?

D’artagnan’s picture book, Spaceman Sam, is a simple story full of fun, adventure, and imagination. Told in rhyming verse and using simple language so young readers can easily follow along, this lyrical treasure will capture the imaginations of all who read it. The illustrations are bright, bold, and colorful and help move the story along. The use of simple props, like a cardboard box, allows young readers to consider what they can do with ordinary household items. While Dad might see the box as trash, Sam sees it as an adventure just waiting to unfold. The plot follows Sam on his adventure into space and all the sights and sounds he experiences. This is a great story about independence, creativity, family bonding and so much more. Loved the illustrations!
