Supernatural SuperMom by Majesta Dawn is a charming and humorous mystery. Being a mother and witch isn’t easy but Maggie makes it look easy though not even having supernatural abilities will make a PTO meeting fun. At least she has her mom-friend Trish to keep her company when dealing with the PTO president. But when a child disappears, suddenly Maggie finds herself remembering a time when her grandmother was viewed as evil following a similar disappearance. Now everyone in town is blaming her, using her son’s issues with the child as an excuse for the accusations. She has to think fast to catch the culprit, find the missing child, and clear her name before the next child goes missing. As she searches for clues, she uncovers a shocking connection between the case and the mysterious pug her son brought home.

Lighthearted humor is woven throughout the story thanks to Maggie’s upbeat personality which is introduced right from the opening. Her delightful outlook on PTO meetings immediately sets the bar for her humor and her attitude as a mother, both of which are delightful. The magical elements have an interesting contrast in the story, adding both quirkiness and seriousness to the tone. Majesta Dawn contrasts the quirky humor with a serious commentary subtly incorporated into the plot. The mystery focuses on missing children which creates an emotional core as Maggie is a mother of three. Dawn shows this emotion through the soft moments that Maggie shares with her children wanting to sleep in her bed and cuddle with her on the couch. These little moments perfectly draw the emotion, fear, and desperation into the story and add to her determination to find these missing children. The story explores the balance between her maternal duties and her witchcraft which are both equally important in her life. Maggie is a layered character who is relatable and feels real as she struggles with her growing children. Supernatural SuperMom is charming and humorous with an emotional core to the mystery, suspense, quirkiness, and plenty of magic.
