The Christmas Cowboy (Sweet Western Holiday Romance) (Volume 1) by Shanna Hatfield is a sweet contemporary romance that offers up everything a reader could want in a romance: a strong, independent heroine, a handsome and charming but slightly stubborn hero, and a holiday to wrap it all up in a shiny red bow. Kenzie is too busy in her corporate world to date, especially a random man she continues to see in the airport. Even if he is handsome. She's had two bad experiences and has sworn off anyone answering to the name "cowboy." Tate Morgan is exactly that. He's one of the top rodeo riders and can manage any horse or animal that is sent his way. But Kenzie is another story. There's something about her he just can't get out of his mind. Can he get her to overcome her trust issues? It will take more than just good looks to break down her barriers to open them both up to the best relationship either has ever had.
This is a really sweet, really well written story that romance readers will love. It is a perfect representation of the genre and I loved how it was incorporated around the Christmas holiday (which is sure to get any readers into the festive spirit!). Tate is handsome, sweet, and never gives up, even when he is shut out by the distrustful Kenzie. Readers will relate to Kenzie's walls, but root for her to tear them down and give the loving Tate a chance.
