The Lost Angels by N. Lang is about a young woman named Lisa, who is a painter and works in a nearby art gallery with her best friend. Lisa has just been tasked with taking care of her 14-year-old niece, Kristy, when Lisa starts having visions and nightmares of a faraway place with once seemingly beautiful castles. Unfortunately, the castles look and smell like they are burning alongside everything else. Lisa eventually finds out that she once had an entirely different life. A life before the one she has now as a special princess angel along with other angelic friends. Lisa and her newfound angel friends figure out pretty quickly that demons from the Underworld are out to destroy them at all costs. The demons want and the angels need to find the special four-piece jewel that will decide the fates of both Heaven and Earth.

I was lured into reading The Lost Angels by N. Lang because of the cover artwork, and I found the title intriguing as well. I was not disappointed. I liked how the author introduced the characters into the initial story, while also developing multiple storylines at the same time. The author ensured that readers understood all the characters' roles in the storyline without confusion. The Lost Angels was both exciting and engaging. However, just when I thought the story was near completion, another imminent threat was looming around the corner. Reading was at times so thrilling that I could envision these characters playing out scenes from the original television show Charmed because of the way the demons kept popping in and out. This book is a winner. I cannot wait to read the second book in the series.
