The Oregon Kids: The Big Catch by Bob Richley is a beautifully written children’s book about morals and character. Billy loved to fish with his dad. One day, his dad announced that the family was going on a camping trip. Billy couldn't wait for an opportunity to fish. When it was time to go fishing at the site, Dad suggested that Billy’s sister, Autumn, come along. Billy was selfish and wanted to know why did his dad make this suggestion? Billy felt that Autumn coming along would only ruin things because she couldn't fish. Dad wanted Autumn to come along because he wanted Billy to teach Autumn how to fish. Dad felt that Billy would in turn become more patient and establish a caring attitude towards his sister. Children will love reading this story as they take a journey into learning about sharing and selflessness, but the colorful illustrations will capture their attention as well.

I enjoyed reading The Oregon Kids: The Big Catch by Bob Richley because of its moral lessons. Our children need examples as to how to develop into well-rounded adults. As they read The Oregon Kids, it can help them in their developmental growth. Not only is The Oregon Kids a good read, but Richley provides a code with the purchase of the book that allows the reader to obtain an audiobook experience. Whether reading, or listening to the audiobook, the child will begin to embrace better choices and behaviour through repetition. Richley did a great job.
