The Soul Whispers Poetry by Vikki Koplick is a wide-ranging and lovely work of inspirational poetry. It's impressive how many human emotions, thoughts, and feelings she captures in her poems--she has her finger on the pulse of the human experience and what it means to discover relationships, a spiritual journey, and a connection with the soul. Besides this, you get a little insight into the poet's process and how she works and creates. Take the theme of forgiveness, for example. Koplick details the nuances of forgiveness and the peace it can bring when it is given and received.
Every poem focuses on a facet of a relationship. Although the words are written from a specific perspective, as you read, you will find yourself relating to them, especially if you have lived some of these experiences and felt some of these emotions. I like the poet's exploration of change and how it comes easier for some than others--some fear change, while others embrace it. The poems explore complex but beautiful ideas about serving the planet through the calling we're given. Her word choice and phrasing can have a healing effect on the reader as the chapter touches on being an empath and opens windows to new possibilities. There is a chapter here on animals as well and the bonds we can have with pets. Appreciating nature is also a theme, and so is self-care. Finding oneness or your center isn't always easy. Some people search for a lifetime. But, as this poet shares, we can ask the divine for guidance. One of my favorite chapters is the one on loving devotion in all its forms. The Soul Whispers Poetry by Vikki Koplick is the kind of poetry that elevates and informs simultaneously, and I highly recommend it.
