The Tale of the Toy Troll by Kimberley Kordov is a lovely children's picture book. Lucas and Logan have lots of toys, and they love to play with them, but they don't like putting them away. Then Mom tells them a story, a terrifying tale of the toy troll who would come and take all the toys they didn't put away. The boys didn't believe their mom and left all their toys out. But the next morning, all their toys were gone. Has the toy troll really taken them? How do they get their toys back? Perhaps if they ask nicely, he might just relent. But then again, he might not. This is a lovely, humorous tale about what might happen when kids don't pick up their toys after they are finished playing.

All parents know what it's like to trip over toys left lying around the place, and this mom came up with a great way to teach her kids how to pick up! It teaches young readers that picking up is an important part of playtime and it also teaches them that manners cost nothing. In this interactive story, kids are encouraged to find the troll on each page – he's hiding there somewhere – which makes it even more likely that they will take note of the message. There is even an email address in the book so kids can send the toy troll a letter to ask him things or ask for their toys back. The Tale of the Toy Troll by Kimberley Kordov is written in rhyme, which makes it incredibly easy to read and will have kids giggling all the way through. This is a great story, with wonderful illustrations by Doha Koma, that will hopefully teach kids to pick up after themselves or risk the toy troll stealing their toys.
