The Timeless Apostle by Ken Urbansky is the story of a troubled and lost young man from Ohio. Twenty years young Tommy Evans spends his days drinking and has flunked out of college to return to his family's abode that he considers to be religiously overbearing. Tommy does not want to go to church, and his father maintains that as long as he lives under his father's roof, he will follow the rules. Tommy's mother begs him to join them as she believes there's a special message for him. The priest's sermon that day is about doubting Thomas, who asked to see Jesus's scars after he had risen. After returning home from church and having another fight with his father, Tommy packs his bags. He wakes up to find himself in the body of Thomas in the first century as one of the apostles of Jesus.

The Timeless Apostle by Ken Urbansky is a contemporary perspective on Jesus's miracles, his journey with his apostles, and his followers' experiences, thoughts, doubts, and hopes. The messages that stood out for me include how faith can realize miracles in your life and how you're not the worst thing you've ever done, even when the world defines you by that. Urbansky shares the possible and likely perspectives of Judas and Thomas and thus allows the reader to consider a different alternative. The lingering message for me was that to understand someone, you must see their entire journey. The Timeless Apostle sheds new light by sharing the possible perspectives of the apostles; an absorbing, fascinating, and refreshing book that I enjoyed reading.
