Michael Balter’s The Vatican Deal is a must-read for lovers of gripping high-stakes crime thrillers with a touch of adventure, action, and drama. Spinning a tangled web of mystery around an ingenious plot, Balter unfolds the story on a double timeline. The edge-of-your-seat suspense and the spell-binding plot twists hooked me. The evocative depictions brought the scenes to life on the pages, making me feel like I was next to the cast in every scene, closely watching their moves. The conversations were sharp, lively, and entertaining. They gave depth to the characters’ conflicts. Balter brings out the well-crafted cast’s emotions, juxtaposing their complex traits and allowing me to connect with them. This is an incredible second installment in the series. I loved it. I’m on my way to find the previous installment.
