Research is vital for exploring new topics, whether you are studying at an institution or self-taught. Good research involves reading, connecting ideas from different sources, thinking critically, and making the right connection from the data collected. This is not a simple process, so it useful to have a framework to guide us correctly. Dominic L. Spencer focuses on sharing basic information so that the reader can investigate their areas of interest. The World of Research explains how to ensure the best possible results. There are many paths we can take to be a researcher. We must find the necessary resources to obtain valid results and Spencer recommends books and websites to improve our research skills.

One of the aspects that I liked the most is that the reading is at an easy level to understand. The World of Research exposes the basic logic in selecting and understanding the material. Dominic L. Spencer is a science enthusiast who shares his expertise by describing the different types of publications clearly and concisely. He explains things as they are, cautions that an answer can lead to more questions, that investigating is a process of practice, and that you will only know if something is true once you have evaluated it. The author goes beyond research in discussing ethics because trust among researchers is built on scientific integrity. Science is objective, it seeks practicality, and this book is an example.
