There’s Ghost In My Room is written by Jason Goodman and illustrated by Fabio Barilari. A young boy has a baby brother who cries all the time, which leaves him feeling frustrated and angry over having a new baby in the house. A ghost haunts the young boy’s room while he’s trying to study to become an engineer, as he promised his parents he would. He didn’t want to share a room with his baby brother, so he began talking to the ghost to find out more about him. Who is the ghost, and why is he haunting the room of a young boy who only wants to study? Will the ghost tell him the truth about how he died? Will the young boy stop feeling so frustrated and angry, or will the ghost make everything worse?
There’s a Ghost In My Room is an interesting story that will help kids understand more about life and death. The characters are relatable and add a layer of unique entertainment to the story. I love the way the author delivered the lesson about treating others with kindness no matter what their reason for being upset is. I enjoyed how the boy didn’t seem to be afraid to ask questions and how he explored other career ideas while learning more about the person haunting his room. The illustrations are fun and charming and give some added depth to the story. I recommend There’s a Ghost In My Room by Jason Goodman to children who enjoy a ghost story that is both fun and enlightening.
