This Book Is Ridiculous, literally! Have you ever wondered how sometimes things happen that make no sense? Well, that happens over and over again in this colorful interactive picture book by Eric Belmonte. Ed is hungry. Unbeknownst to him, however, he is inside a ridiculous book where you don't know what to expect at any moment in time. Instead of finding a snack, Ed gets picked up by a giant hand that throws him into a pool. Now, he is inexplicably in a dryer. After someone puts him in a mailbox, Ed discovers his hand has become flexible, too flexible -- meaning he doesn't have bones in one hand. He eventually finds a sandwich, but when it starts to talk, Ed stops trying to eat it. At least he gets to party with a bunch of bananas.
This Book Is Ridiculous completely lives up to its name. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, you could predict in this book. Even more hilarious is the fact that the protagonist, Ed, is as clueless as the reader. In addition, you will stumble upon random facts right in the middle of the story, involving ducks and sandwiches that appear seemingly out of nowhere. But while you're reading it, you can't deny it's a lot of fun. Eric Belmonte has written a unique tale that is bound to bring joy to early readers and preschoolers. Children love to be surprised, and if anything's guaranteed in this book, it's that you will be surprised with each page flip. Moreover, the cartoon-like illustrations are an absolute delight. If you want to make your child laugh, this is the perfect book!
