One day in 1985, a corporate executive is murdered in his office. Fifty years later, influential US Senator James Lodge pressures the Historical Event Research Organization using newly-developed time travel technology to find out who murdered his father. Army Ranger Captain Marc McKnight is assigned to travel back in time, witness the event, and bring back the story. In doing so, he accidentally alters history, making unwanted changes including physical changes to McKnight’s teammate Winston Tyler III. Now, McKnight must repair the damage he caused and complete the original mission. Unfortunately, he continues to create more wrinkles in history. Given one last chance to fix his errors, he knows it must be now or never.
I’ve always been a fan of good time travel adventures. Time Enough by KM Megahee was a very good time travel book. The author has created a well developed cast of characters with McKnight being a true hero. The plot moves at a brisk pace, although readers pretty much know what’s going to happen if they read the book blurb. The author didn’t spend much time on the technology of the time travel device, but that didn’t take anything away from the story and possibly enhanced it by not distracting the reader. In fact, once I got into the story I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I really like the dialogue not having too much strong language. Overall, a well written sci-fi adventure story and a perfect first book for a series.
