Do you know what time it is? Do you like to study the clock or a watch and figure out the time? In Julian Hilton’s Time Telling Ted, a bear named Ted loves to tell the time. He depends on his watch to mark the time of day from eight in the morning when he gets up until four in the afternoon when his friends arrive for a party. Time is very important to Ted. They even play a game at the party called What’s the Time, Mr. Wolf? You guessed it; this game is all about time. What fun!

Julian Hilton’s picture book, Time Telling Ted: A Time Rhyming Picture Book Tale with Teddy Bears, is the third book in the Read and Learn Stories. The story is told in rhyming verse and the author uses simple language to invite young readers into the action to improve their reading and time-telling skills. The plot follows the bear, Ted, as he moves through his daily regimen, all while marking the time of day. The illustrations by the author are bright, bold, and colorful and add a little zest to the story. At the end of the book, there are some interactive activities, including clocks to test the young reader’s skill in time-telling and instructions on playing What’s the Time, Mr. Wolf? These activities also challenge the young reader to find clocks (or watches) on every page. Lots of fun is to be had as youngsters follow Ted while he marks the time throughout his day. A great read that is engaging, entertaining, and educational.
