In Unwrapped by Phyllis Picasso, Jordan discovers that her husband Joe's former fiancée, Cheryl, is now her boss. Jordan is dealing with pregnancy and experiencing morning sickness. The relationship between Jordan and Joe is deteriorating, and she feels uncertain whether it is due to Joe learning about her pregnancy or the fact that Cheryl is now her boss. In the parking lot of Hedgewood Mall, Mandy's body was discovered. She had been strangled with her scarf. Shortly after, Elena was killed while receiving treatment at a salon. Mandy, Elena, and Cheryl had been friends for a long time. Jordan received a note indicating that she was the next victim and went to see Detective Bob Drake, who was looking into the murders. Can Bob apprehend the killer before Jordan becomes his next victim?
Unwrapped by Phyllis Picasso was remarkable and captivating. The plot was fast-moving and packed with action that began on the very first page and never let up. The writing style was engaging, pulling me into Jordan's life and making me feel like a part of her everyday experiences. The events were vividly described, and I could not turn the pages fast enough to discover what would occur next. The characters felt genuine and relatable. I empathized with Jordan, who was grappling with morning sickness and a somewhat absent husband while also facing her anxieties about potentially becoming the next target. The masterful crafting of the story maintained my interest throughout. I thought I had figured out the identity of the murderer, but I was completely mistaken. It turned out to be someone I never saw coming, and what a significant twist at the conclusion!
