Veilfall: Soothsayer Series Book 1 by Adron J. Smitley is an epic tale of one man’s fight to save the world from an ancient demonic cult. Time and love are two of the most valuable and fragile things in the world and Banzu Greenlief discovers this the hard way. The last Soothsayer and a sword slinger, Banzu is whisked off by a beautiful stranger, dragged into a world he’s tried to stay away from for the last eleven years. An ancient demonic cult is set to restart the Thousand Years War, a genocidal war against everyone with magic, and Banzu joins the fight. The cult is headed by a messiah who wields lightning as a weapon - he is trying to become a God, helped by a resurrected and enslaved necromaster. Banzu must be victorious against the cult or the world as it is will be destroyed and he shows no mercy in his quest to win.
Veilfall: Soothsayer Series Book 1 by Adron J. Smitley is a long and involved story, not one that you can read lightly. It is packed with action, magic, and sorcery from cover to cover. It is three stories in one, with a unique plot that grabs you from the start. The characters are well-developed throughout the book, giving you plenty of time to get to know who they are and what drives them. Adron has a way with words, a way of drawing you in with his poetic prose, his descriptions of the characters, the places, magic, and romance that are weaved throughout. It’s a great story if you like long books that you can really get stuck into, especially fantasy tales.
