Woobee's Journey by Antwinette Scott is a fun, heartwarming children's book about a young boy named Isaiah. When Isaiah was really young, he received a handmade blanket, called Woobee, from his grandma. Isaiah takes the blanket everywhere. But then his grandma dies, and the blanket becomes more than just a blanket; it becomes a lasting memory of his grandma. But Woobee is torn and tattered, and Isaiah soon outgrows the need for a security blanket. As Isaiah grows, Woobee evolves into a cape, a pillowcase, and so on. What will Woobee become next?
I really enjoyed reading Woobee's Journey by Antwinette Scott. The story is very heartwarming, because Isaiah's grandma dies, and Isaiah clearly loved her. Woobee is one of his last connections to her. The story is also very touching. The book is very creative, and it was fun seeing what Woobee would become next. The author comes up with creative ways for Isaiah to use Woobee. I liked that the book had a bittersweet ending. The illustrations clearly depict how Woobee looks. The pictures are also very colourful and show how Woobee is used. The pictures depict each scene very well. Parents will enjoy reading this book to their child, and children will want to read this book over and over again. The book would be really good if someone has recently lost someone they care about, because they will be able to relate to the characters. I would definitely recommend this book to young and older readers.
