“Journey to Inner Light” is a collection of short stories by various authors coming from different parts of the world, with completely different backgrounds. All these authors, however, have something in common and that is the courage to face the challenges that life has to offer. There are actually eight main stories in the book and a “Collection of Articles” from various writers. Titles include 'A Pearl is a Beautiful Thing', 'Having Faith through Trauma', 'Accidental Author', 'Lessons that I Learned Along the Way', 'My Cancer Story', 'All for A Reason' and 'Full Circle'.
All the stories contained in this book are simply inspiring and what makes them quite interesting is that they are the authors' personal journeys in life. Rhonda Baker surely does not have an easy life, starting from having an abusive father to the loss of her loved ones, and the betrayal of her husband and best friend. This is the reason why her ability to bounce back from these dark pits is very remarkable. On the other hand, Andrew Jobling's transformation from a poor student to a best selling author is truly an inspiration for everyone. It is a testament to the fact that nothing is impossible for those who are determined and persistent. Emily Sun's fight with cancer is the one that can break a reader's heart especially because she is the mother of a young boy. I highly recommend this book to all readers because all of us, at one time or another, need inspiration, to face our biggest challenge that is life itself.
