Time – is it past, present, or future? Or, is it a blending of all three and yet more? Time is eternal, “an endless march, a relentless force.” Vikas Parihar’s A Love Letter to Time is a philosophical journey through time and in time, a reflective look at all that time is and all that time has to offer. “Beyond all reach, yet close to touch,/ In every life, it matters much./ Held in the weave of night and day,/ In the silent steps, it finds its way.” Time is a reflective metaphor, a prophetic symbol of lyricism and endless omnipresence, an illusion, both elusive and profound.
Vikas Parihar’s book, A Love Letter to Time: A Poetry Collection, is a reflective and engaging look at something we all take for granted. Presented mostly in rhyming verse and accompanied by colorful and intense images, this lyrical treasure is a work of art, both literary and visual. The poet presents multiple thoughts to consider on the elusive topic of time. Reflection is made on time past, present, and future in a way that emphasizes time’s vast and infinite ability to be all-consuming. The poet reflects on the personal journey through time, paying particular attention to emotional outlooks and one’s persistence in existential challenges. The poems themselves are musical and yet there are specific titles and poems, like The Eternal Symphony, that bring the rhythmic nature of music into the passage of time. This is a book to be studied repetitively as each study will reveal something new and eternally exciting – all about time.
