In the epic saga A War Through Destiny by Sarah Lindsay Peterson, Stacy Grace Matthews was born in Dukhovia after her family had been expelled and left the country as an infant. Raised in the United States, she lives securely but notices persistent physical and mental differences that she links to her birthplace. Her relatives refuse to discuss Dukhovia, limiting her knowledge. A recurring dream instructs her to protect the heir of Dukhovia, a title unknown to her, and she begins seeking its meaning. Nicholas Tyler Andrews was born and raised in Dukhovia after his family was accused of causing the nation’s collapse. He works to restore their reputation, committing crimes in the process. Declared one of two potential heirs, he must rebuild the country by eliminating the other heir, Stacy Matthews.

“Neither Stacy nor Nicholas could describe the bond they felt in that moment. It was more than their destiny’s intertwining. It was more than the glory of figuring themselves out.” A War Through Destiny by Sarah Lindsay Peterson is a really in-depth fantasy romance, and Peterson does well in the slow reveals and forward momentum of the story. I really like Nicholas, whose memories and inherited history surface precisely when his current situation threatens his sense of obligation, identity, and duty. Peterson is exceptional in making Stacy the catalyst for this with a presence that intensifies this effect, and her connection to Dukhovia acts as a trigger. The settings are textured to the point of being cinematic, and I genuinely think that between the excellent prose and delicious push and pull of sizzle, this series has the spark to ignite a huge fan base.
