Albobonnae's Way is a supernatural mystery novel written by Bella Rayne. Serena's life spirals toward a pit of despair after her husband Toby is suddenly killed in a car accident during a raging storm. With the support of her neighbor Karol and best friend Beatrice, Serena slowly recovers from her depressive spiral when she receives a letter from her Aunt Sylvie, inviting her for a prolonged stay at her Castle Fay in Scotland. However, upon her arrival, Serena is shocked to learn that her aunt has been brutally murdered. Despite herself, she becomes involved in a romantic relationship with Liam Dunningham, her neighbor. Additionally, Serena discovers that she may be the reincarnation of an ancient spirit. As unseen enemies threaten to destroy her, Serena must rediscover her inner strength to solve the mysteries of Castle Fay.
Filled with romance, mystery, and intrigue, Albobonnae's Way hooks you in with a strong premise and keeps you glued to the pages with its unpredictable plot that takes you through twists you never see coming. Author Bella Rayne tells a captivating tale of a woman coming to terms with the death of her husband and discovering herself in the process. The narrative is well-paced and full of unexpected twists and turns. Serena's character arc was one of my favorite aspects of the book. Her gradual progression from a vulnerable widow to a strong and independent woman who's fearless enough to face anything that comes her way felt very satisfying to read. If you're itching for a supernatural mystery filled with romance, I recommend Albobonnae's Way.
