All Our Foolish Schemes: The Creepers Saga Book 2 is a thriller in the genre of dark fiction, full of wonderful characters that readers identify with and cheer throughout this very fast paced book. The world is a place of desolation where very few survivors must battle on to save mankind and themselves. They consider themselves warriors, and their love and loyalty for one another bind them. It is what gives them hope and drives them further, against all odds. They must fight very scary and voracious creepers that chase and ambush them constantly. Their band consists of Adam, Annie, Devin, Austin, Brandon, Susan, Golden, Dr. Thorn, Caroline, and the children they must protect. They each have a past and a story, but they must persevere each day just to survive. Events come to a climax when they realize Connor is aligned with the creepers to hunt and conspire against them.
Author Raymond Esposito writes with chilling authority that rivets readers from the first page. He creates a very dark, somber atmosphere - a perfect end of the world scenario that is devoid of much hope, but the survival instinct is strong and hungry. As a reader, I got attached to the myriad characters as each came alive in the pages, as each one fought their way through the creepers with their own special ways and talents. Esposito is at the top of the dark fiction genre because the reader feels all the despair that one would in such an environment, but at the same time, the human strengths of courage, love, and hope shine through in moments throughout the story. I highly recommend this book to any reader, even if this genre is something that you normally wouldn't read!
