After catching the man she loved in a compromising position, Kristina Beckham fled her hometown of Amarillo, Texas, to make it big in New York City as a car model. Three years later, she returns to Amarillo to assist in her mom’s coffee shop as her mother’s health is failing. The last person she expected to see on her first morning was Anthony (Tony) Jordan, the man who broke her heart. After a hostile confrontation, when she accidentally on purpose pours hot coffee over him, he storms out. Under pressure from her mother, she takes a plate of cookies to his place. A heavy snowstorm traps them in his house together. Forced into conversation, will they reconcile or remain mortal enemies forever? You’ll need to read Luis Ammerman’s Amarillo Sky to find out.
Hate to love is a common romance trope, and it’s always fun for the reader when it becomes a “will they or won’t they” scenario. There are always two sides to every story, and Amarillo Sky makes this abundantly clear. Not every romance novel has a happy ending, making this one even more thrilling to read. Kristina and Tony are both very strong-willed and passionate characters, and along the way, the reader doesn’t quite know which one to champion. Amarillo Sky is a novella that can be read in one sitting. The entire narrative is set in one afternoon and keeps the reader in its grasp until the final paragraph. Lovers of fast-paced romance novels, with no adult scenes, will love Amarillo Sky as much as I did.
