Blood Harbor by Matt Wanicur is a creepy supernatural tale. Sophie and Calvin have been married for over 10 years but nothing could prepare them for the rude awakening they would get one lazy morning. Awakened by a S.W.A.T. team entering their home, Calvin finds himself under arrest for the murder of his wife. Clearly, Sophie is not dead but a body identical to her has been found on the beach and witnesses point the finger at Calvin. The next 24 hours are crucial as the residents of Stone Harbor have to deal with the fallout of this terrible but perplexing crime. An experienced detective, a couple facing something they couldn’t have imagined happening, and a reporter trying to kick-start her career again – be prepared to face terrors and brutality like no other.

Blood Harbor by Matt Wanicur is a strange tale, and I mean that in the very best possible sense. This grabs you from the first page, dragging you deep into a mystery like no other. It is action all the way, twists and turns you never expect to see, and just when you think it’s all worked out, you’re off on another tangent. Full of suspense, this is one of those stories that really will keep you guessing right to the end – a slightly disturbing end that you won’t see coming. The characters are excellent, truly relatable and easy to identify with. It's easy to see where the influence comes from for this story – think some of the biggest horror/suspense writers – and I must say that Matt has done a great job of crafting an imaginative and terrifying tale. Highly recommended for horror/suspense/paranormal fans and for those who want something a little bit different to read.
