Christmas Calamity (The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries) by MK Scott is a charming murder mystery novel. Donna has decided to have a Victorian Christmas theme at her Bed and Breakfast this year. This Christmas season is hectic and Donna's Christmas plans begin to go awry when her mother insists on helping her decorate. Her mother unwittingly sends a clown instead of a train. Tennyson, Donna's helper, believing that the clown is cursed, nearly comes unhinged. Then Donna is floored when an unexpected and unwelcome guest, like a ghost from her Christmas past, checks in. Exhausted and avoiding her unwelcome guest, Donna sneaks off to bed. She doesn't even get any rest from the craziness while she sleeps, and instead she has horrific nightmares.

The star in Donna's nightmare becomes the center of a murder investigation. In her efforts to solve the mystery, Donna gets the feeling that she is getting under Detective Taber's skin. Donna can't decide if her detective friend is romantically inclined towards her or not. Donna also can't determine if Detective Taber is jealous or annoyed that she is getting information that he can't. She suspects his goal is to solve the murder mystery before she does. Back at the Bed and Breakfast, while trying to keep her incorrigible Santa sober and ready for his duties on Christmas Eve, Donna entertains the 'missing Russian Princess' at a Christmas tea. Then another catastrophe occurs that puts them all into shock. Will Donna survive Christmas and solve the newest mystery before Detective Taber?

Christmas Calamity (The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries) by MK Scott is another amazing anecdote about Donna, her lovely Inn, and her unusual guests. Again, Donna has to deal with the peculiarity of the people around her. With an unseemly Santa Claus and the Dickens as her guests, plus one unpleasant surprise guest who arrives with his family, she has to maintain her sanity while solving another murder. This is the fourth installment of The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries and includes some scrumptious recipes that Donna bakes for her guests. This is a delightful murder mystery bound to amuse those who are fans of cozy murders. I love the cover designs, they make the books irresistible. I love reading MK Scott's books and am so glad that I had the opportunity to read and review this one. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
