In Andrew Piñon's Crossbow Creek: Dead Bridesmaids, a group of women was hosting a bachelorette party for their friend Rose at an upscale and remote cabin in Crossbow Creek. Since elementary school, Yvonne, a single mother, and Rose had been best friends. Yvonne knew she could not afford to throw Rose a bachelorette party, so she turned down the invitation to be Rose's maid of honor. Amelia forced herself into the position, and to say she and Yvonne did not get along was an understatement. The women found multiple hidden cameras within the home and became aware that they were being watched. When Yvonne discovered the dark reality behind the surveillance, she found that they were pawns in a human trafficking plot and were being sold at auction on the dark web.
Crossbow Creek: Dead Bridesmaids by Andrew Piñon is a roller coaster ride of death, horror, action, and suspense. Fast-paced and action-packed, it kept me on the edge of my seat! It was hard to put the book down, and I was turning the pages as fast as I could. The twists and turns had me guessing until the end, not knowing what would happen next. The characters were well-developed and relatable. Each character's background gave me a better idea of why they reacted the way they did. I was captivated by the realistic description of every moment as I journeyed alongside them, a mute observer of their terrifying experience. The story is masterfully crafted, and it is disturbing to think that such a thing could be possible.
