Juggling two worlds at once is hard for any person to do, especially when that person is working for someone who’s impossible to please. In R.J. Castille’s Goddess, Executive Assistant Leila King works for big-time lawyer Gordon Roth, a man who seems content with sabotaging her efforts to do her job. Though she feels that he’s ruling her world unfairly and very harshly, on certain nights she becomes the Goddess – her persona in her BDSM world, the world where she and only she makes the rules for her loyal and faithful servant, Matthew. However, the Red Velvet Room – her mentor Master Jason’s new BDSM club – becomes the stage where her professional and fantasy worlds combine when she spots her boss while in the midst of showing off her skills. The depictions of the Red Velvet Room are my favorite – it almost becomes a character itself while serving as the ultimate fantasy world and stage for Leila’s worlds. I call this a teaser because the way this story ends screams, even begs, for a sequel; however, as the Goddess herself would say, “We shall see…”
