Gypsy Lane: A Love Drama by Vernard Dorsey is a beautifully written and engaging romance with a lot of drama. Ashima comes from a typical traditional Islamic background, characterized by sexism and stringent rules. She is intelligent and a graduate from the Wharton School of Business, a successful consultant at Philadelphia Finance and Trust, but her love life is nonexistent, with a fiancé arranged for her by her billionaire father. But then she meets Brian and what she thought could be a mere distraction in her boring life becomes a very strong attraction. Can she risk the wrath of her father for this man?
This is a heart-pounding romance with settings that plunge readers into the glitz of the world of the characters, taking them on a ride across cities like Paris and Dubai. It’s flawless, intelligently plotted and the execution is as masterful as the plot lines are intricate. The camaraderie that comes across in dialogues between friends like Tez, Marty, and Brian enrich the atmosphere of the narrative and creates a world where the characters come out vividly. It is interesting how the author explores the conflict of cultures, creating social and cultural commentaries that are relevant as they allow readers a deeper understanding of the characters. Gypsy Lane: A Love Drama seduced me by the beauty of the prose and had me hooked, thanks to the compelling characters and Vernard Dorsey’s storytelling craft.
