When Everest, a cockapoo puppy full of life and forever active, was adopted and brought home to his fur-ever home, he was skittish and didn’t trust anyone. He had been abused in his previous homes and he was hesitant to trust anyone new. He even bit his new adopted Mom. But his fur-ever family didn’t give up on him. With patience and kindness and lots of loving care, he turned into a fun little puppy, full of love and energy. Each little antic of this special bundle of fur earned Everest a new name like Evi, Handsome, Daddy’s Big Boy, Pillow Boy, Little Dude, and Fuzz Buns. Each name described something special about Everest.
Rescuing a puppy and giving him (or her) the patient kindness and love he (she) deserves is a noble task, but one also wants that to be beneficial for the adoptees as much as the adopted. It requires time and work and never-ending love. Rosanne Peters’ How Many Names Do I Have? is Everest’s story. He’s a rescue dog who was once abused because his previous owners lacked the patience to understand and appreciate him for his truly energetic self. In his fur-ever home, Everest becomes many things, all those wonderful things reflected in the loving names given to him. As Everest tells his story, he shares his different names and how proud he is of each name given to him. This is a compassionate look at the life of a rescue dog. Loving told, complete with pictures, this story will warm the hearts of young and old.
