I Love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables by Shelley Admont is a delightful book for children that introduces them to healthy eating habits. Jimmy the little Bunny loves sweets and always wants to eat them. Jimmy wants to eat only sweets instead of the lunch his mother has prepared for them. His brothers try talking him out of it as Jimmy makes his way to the kitchen. He sees the table prepared for lunch in the kitchen and in the center is a bowl with fresh vegetables. He tries to pull out the bag of candy from the cupboard and cannot reach as it is very high. Jimmy puts a few things on a chair, strains to reach the box of candies and falls down. He notices that after the fall he has shrunk and become tiny. What will happen when Jimmy's mother gets back? Will Jimmy become normal again?

It is an excellent story with a good educational concept of eating healthily. The way the brothers coax Jimmy into eating vegetables and fruits to grow bigger is indeed interesting and it is helpful to parents who have problems with their kids when it comes to eating healthily. The story is very original and clever. I would recommend this book to all parents and grandparents to read out loud as it not only teaches kids new words but also stresses the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. The illustrations are excellent and give movement and life to the story and the characters.
